New Feature: Update Your Weather Units by SMS with WSET

SMS Weather Forecast now makes it easier to control how your forecasts are displayed. With the new WSET command, you can update your weather unit preferences directly by text message.

That means you can choose whether your forecasts use Celsius or Fahrenheit, kilometres or miles, and millibars or inches of mercury, without needing to log in to the website.

Quick setup options

For a simple setup, text one of these commands:

WSET UK
WSET EU
WSET US
WSET CA
WSET METRIC
WSET IMPERIAL

These options apply a full set of regional or measurement preferences in one go.

For example, WSET UK applies UK-style weather units, while WSET US switches to US-style units. WSET METRIC and WSET IMPERIAL are useful if you simply prefer one measurement system over the other.

Change individual settings

You can also update just one setting at a time:

WSET TEMP C
WSET TEMP F
WSET DIST KM
WSET DIST MI
WSET PRESS MB
WSET PRESS INHG

So, if you want temperatures in Celsius but distances in miles, you can set those preferences separately.

Silent SMS updates

Successful WSET changes are applied silently by SMS to help avoid unnecessary message costs. If your account has an email address, you’ll receive an email confirmation instead.
